Emigrate to New Zealand

New Zealand is a beautiful country on the other side of the world. The island is inhabited by friendly Kiwis who welcome you with open arms. The immigration process, on the other hand, is a lot less friendly. You must meet strict requirements in order to emigrate to New Zealand. Applying for a visa is therefore not an easy process. We recommend that you arrange your visa before your stay so that you can start your emigration carefree. Something that De Haan relocation is happy to support you with. Are you unable to arrange a visa before your departure? Then there is no need to panic. You can stay in New Zealand for up to three months with an Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA). You can easily apply for this, but it is not the same as an official visa. Good to know: in a period of twelve months you can stay in the country for a maximum of six months with an NZeTA.

The requirements for an NZeTA are:

• Your passport is valid for at least three months after you leave New Zealand
• You already have a return ticket
• You can prove on arrival that you have enough money for your trip
• You may not be employed by a company in New Zealand
• You are healthy
• You have no criminal record

The Residence Permit

A permanent residence requires a Residence Permit. You need this if you want to live and work on the island. Something that is necessary for your emigration. To start the process you pay an amount of 400 NZD. You must be able to demonstrate to customs that you are of added value to the country. This can be done, for example, by showing your diplomas (translated) or by showing that you want to make an investment in the local economy.
