Since 2014, we have incorporated in our vision that De Haan Relocation, in addition to customer satisfaction, has the ambition to be positively distinctive in sustainability. In all our business processes and decisions, we therefore take into account, within our capabilities, the effects of our activities on people and the environment.
As an international moving company, it is of course also appropriate to continuously look at alternative fuels. 3 of our 11 cars therefore started on 1 January 2021 to run entirely on HVO100 (blue diesel).
HVO100 stands for 100 percent Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. HVO100 is a sustainable, fossil-free fuel for diesel engines, which is extracted mainly from plant residues, waste and residual raw materials and other organic material.
HVO100 reduces CO2 emissions by 90% (source: GoodFuels & TNO, fuels for road traffic 2014). The remaining 10% is lost in the process of making and shipping it. This is calculated over the entire chain, or "Well to Wheel".
