The FIDI-FAIM certification program requires that international movers have a periodic independent assessment of their inter-continental moving activities through an independent audit which is performed every 3 years. This ensures that FIDI companies work to a worldwide common standard for managing and performing international moving services in a uniformed, quality-minded and effective way. It also provides a transparent mechanism that ensures that the standards remain high. From an end customer's point of view, a FAIM certified company gives the person who moves and the HR department who is organizing his move, confidence that the company knows the business and has the resources and know-how to do the job properly. After more than a decade, the FIDI-FAIM certification program has been widely recognized as the supreme seal of quality in the international moving industry.
THE FAIM 3.2 PROGRAMME ensures that FIDI companies work towards a worldwide common standard for managing and performing international moving services warranting global consistency of quality and services. FAIM 3.2 in 3 Key Points:
HOW ARE FAIM CERTIFIED RELOCATION COMPANIES AUDITED?
In order to become FAIM certified, relocation companies need to undergo strict, independent auditing processes. As a pre-condition to gain FIDI membership, and every three years afterwards, the companies will need to be audited by an EY auditor on-site. EY apply the same rigorous standards to all FIDI Affiliates across the globe. The auditors go through every aspect of the company’s business and insurance provision to safety procedures and warehouse inspections.
During the on-site audit the auditor will physically inspect the company’s warehouse and equipment, as well as check their operational procedures and move files following the FAIM requirements:
Based on their observations, the auditor issues a report that compares the company against the FAIM requirements and criteria. Only companies that are considered as being compliant with FAIM, they will be FAIM certified. All others will lose the FIDI membership.
Maintain FAIM
In order to ensure that all FIDI Affiliates maintain the FAIM Quality Standard all the time (and not only when the on-site audit approaches), FAIM certification requires companies to provide evidence that they have performed an internal (or “firstparty”) audit during the years when they do not have an on-site audit. This means that FIDI constantly monitors that its Affiliates adhere to the strict and up-to-date FAIM Quality Standard.
