Last year, we helped move Titia Hennemann's father to Wassenaar. She was so happy with the move that she also called on De Haan to carry out a second round of moves from Schilde (Belgium) to several other addresses in Abcoude, The Hague, and Lillois-Witterzée (Brussels). We packed, dismantled, and reassembled everything for the customer. One item was a grand piano and another a grandfather clock that we made special shipping crates for.
Titia Hennemann had arranged for her father to be moved into a care home in Wassenaar. Her father suffers from dementia, which meant that she needed a company that could reconstruct his room just the way it was at his old home. This is critical for Alzheimer patients, because they attach a great deal of importance to familiar items and settings. De Haan's moving experts tackled this reconstruction with the utmost care and attention to detail. One mover knew exactly which books belonged where on the bookshelves.
She explained how vacating her family home had been a particularly emotional experience for all the family members. "Our movers all got on very well with each other and set about their work with a lot of positive energy. This helped lift our spirits enormously."
Titia Hennemann was highly satisfied with De Haan's movers. "They were extremely helpful and careful. They took full account of our situation and nothing was too much to ask. Everything was possible. I was treated so well."
After the move, Titia asked De Haan to help her move her parents' belongings to several of her father's children's addresses. She was also very happy with these moves, although there was one moment of miscommunication. An old grandfather clock needed to be moved and she had arranged a specialist to dismantle and reassemble the clock, "But what I didn't know was that De Haan had its own specialist who could have taken care of this for me. I needn't have gone to all the trouble!"
